Diflubenzuron 95%TECH, 25%WP, 200g/l SC, 450g/l ODC

MOLECULAR FORMULA:: N-[{(4-chlorophenyl)amino}carbonyl]-2,6- difluoro-benzamide (CAS).

PROPERTIES: White crystalline solid. Tech melting point 210-230ºC. Almost insoluble in apolar solvents. Moderate to good in most polar-to-very polar solvents.

USES & CROPS: Insecticide, larvicide, ovicide, insect growth regulator acting by interference with deposition of insect chitin. For wide range of leaf feeding, certain other insects in forestry, woody ornamentals, and fruit. Certain major pests of cotton, soybeans, citrus, vegetables, and ornamentals. Diflubenzuron to control the breeding of flies in cattle manure.

HAZARDS: Fish: LC50 140 mg/l (96 h) (rainbow trout); 135 mg/l (bluegill). Bee: Nontoxic. Bird: Dietary LC50 >4640 ppm (8 day) (mallard duck, bobwhite quail).

DEGRADATION AND METABOLISM: In soil, rapidly degraded by a microbiological process. Half-life in soil of WP (avg. particle sizes 2-3 micron) is 3-4 days.

SOIL PARTICLE ADSORPTION: Strongly adsorbed by soil/humic acid complex; virtually immobile.

SOLUBILITY: Almost insoluble in water (0.08 mg/l at 20ºC).

TOXICITY CLASS III: Tech (Rat): Oral LD50 >4640 mg/kg. Dermal >10,000 mg/kg. (Rabbit): Non-irritating to skin; slight to eye. Not mutagenic. Not teratogenic. No evidence of carcinogenicity.

HANDLING AND STORAGE CAUTIONS: Store in a dry location.
